2 council and 2 police officers made a surprise visit this morning, as they had heard the audio clip I posted and are appalled, and have said that the evidence I have provided about the ongoing problems is excellent.

I signed a statement for them both, looks like things are starting to move! :)

I'll keep you posted

BIG HUGS to you all for your support through all this.

It’s now been 12 months since I started logging the ASB of my neighbours. Despite letters from Environmental services, frequent contact from the council nothing has really changed in that time. I’m sat waiting for the next disturbance, no matter how minor it may be perceived, when you’re having to endure it every day for this length of time then it is a major issue.

Have to see what results the recent visit from the council/police brings.

And I'm supposed to have that mediation meeting on Wednesday Confused

Ahhh well at least the sun is back so I can get out and about :)

As you know I have my reservations about the mediation tomorrow, like many folks here other friends also feel that mediation won't solve anything in this case.

There's a barrister who specialises in these sort of cases, who's one of the lovely bikers on XRV forum.

He's just posted the following, and has followed it up with a few private messages.

Quote:
Mediation is a no-lose option. You would be tactically foolish not to go. Either it works or it doesn't but it takes away the opportunity for a silver-tongued lawyer at the eventual trial to say that the matter should be adjourned to allow mediation. The council &/or you can say 'Despite the appalling treatment that Miss Connors had suffered she was still prepared to go to mediation as late as June 2010, but even that did not work. The only option is to evict them.'

So it seems the best thing is to go, and lay down how it is. Then there's no way they can divert action back 6 months (again)

I'll keep you posted.

Good luck Jo - I'm sure it will be difficult for you but as your friendly biker says, you should go. But we are all thinking of you and sending you our strength.

That's disappointing, Jo, but I suppose it will be in your best interest to try it. I would feel the same, that mediation would not be worth it at this late stage. But your friend obviously knows what he's talking about.

Don't know why but I have a feeling she won't turn up. As she's cancelled a number of times in the past for the mediator to visit her.

If she starts blatantly lying in there I will make it known, and ask for it to be on record.

They've not changed when all those agencies have got involved, it will do nothing. But does close off another escape route for them and their behaviour.

Thanks for all your support

That is good advice from your friend. I would never have thought of that delaying a court decision.

Cannot wait to hear the outcome. Keep calm and let her hang herself with her own words then you can disprove anything which is not true with your evidence file.

Well I was up around 6am to a beautiful day, had a shower and some mash-up eggs for breakfast.

As it was such a lovely day I decided to set off around 9.50 to walk to where the mediation meeting would be held. I got there around 10.25 and was greeted by Jane (mediator) and her colleague.

The 10.30 meeting time came and went, and I agreed to give an extra 15 minutes. This too came and went with no sign of my neighbour. At 10.55 Jane apologised and said that we'd given more than enough time and thanked me for my efforts.

Jane said there had been no message that she wasn't going to turn up, and that it would be logged. As I had originally requested the shuttle option, but it was my neighbour who had requested the face to face meeting.

She will now be written to to explain why she failed to attend, they are there as I heard them get up as I went out.

if she fails to respond (as she's done previously) the case will be closed and the ASB team told that I had done everything I could to resolve the issue.

I did suspect she wouldn't attend, and got myself all wound up for nothing.

We'll see what happens now.

WOOHOOOOO!!!

News hot off the press...

My neighbours from hell have gone!!

They moved the last of their things out last night, the block has been drug free for a few weeks and no real noise issues, I now know they've not been here only to pop back occasionally.

Last night they moved the last of their stuff!!

sorry for acting like a loon... but it's been a wonderful few weeks and now I know the problem won't return!!

Does a little dance and breaks open the drinks cabinet

Thank you all so much for your support, I know I haven't been as supportive on here as I used to be but the whole thing had worn me down to nothing.

BIG HUGS

Jo.

Wow!!! That`s BRILLIANT news, Jo!! I wonder if they moved under their own steam, or were moved on by officialdom? Not that it will matter one jot to you!!

Was that the sound of a champagne cork I heard popping??

Drug-free, noise-free, trouble-free - no wonder you are celebrating, I`m so pleased for you after what you`ve had to put up with.

Take care,

Kathleen x
